Name?

Joe Foley

Year of Birth?

22 years old.

Current place of residence?

Currently living in Hull, East Yorkshire, England.

How old were you when you first started riding and what got you into it?

First started riding when I was around 9 years old. I had a skateboard first and my mum would take me to a small metal skatepark out by the beach every weekend. We were then lucky enough to get a massive concrete skatepark built locally on the estate where I grew up. I would hang out there all the time and ended up making pals with some of the older lads at the park who rode BMX. Some of those guys managed to get a hold of a bike for me for like £30! Haha I was hooked after that and have not looked back since!

Where did you grow up and what’s your hometown like?

Ings Road Estate, I.R.E. To be honest it is now pretty calm but back before the old estate got knocked down it was ruthless! Seen so much shit, it was unreal! For some reason all the BMX'ers were sound with all the boys from the estate. Hull in general was amazing for riding and had so many riders. Not sure why, but recently the scene seems to have died a little here.

Local spots or new places?

New places everyday!

Best city you have visited with your bike?

Barcelona has got to be the one! In the UK, London is on fire!

What was the first BMX video you owned?

Tomorrow We Work by Joe Cox.

What’s your daily routine like?

Man, I don't have a daily routine, everyday is different for me!

Style or stunts?

Style all day!

Park or street?

Street.

What gets you more stoked, riding in a comp or riding for a video part?

Would probably be riding for a video part. But, it's also mint to see and hangout with with such a mixed group of riders at comps & jams!

What riders originally inspired you?

Carl Wood, Tom Sanders, Safe Nath, Tom Blyth and all the Sheffield crew!

And who do you like watching ride now?

BMX has changed a lot! For me, I like watching the older stuff but watching Dan Paley ride gets me hyped every single time!

What is the riding scene like in Hull at the moment?

Here and there to be honest! Myself, Baz and Antonio are out most often but since lockdown there seems to be a lot of old faces popping up again which is sick!

What is the party scene like in Hull at the moment??

No comment! Hahaha

Your submission for the Battle Of Hastings video contest was seriously wild! How long had you guys been filming for that? Were you happy with the outcome?

Bless man! I was buzzed with how it turned out! It was filmed for just over a year and a half but we had a lot of problems with lost footage which is never good!

What has been your #1 BMX event / comp?

Dub jams are the best for sure! Crazy shit happens every single time!

Early start or sleep in?

Early start.

Where is the last place you rode?

The most recent place I rode was a brand new spot in Hull which is actually a crazy flood defence system with some super steep, skinny trannies!

One-and-done or one-hundred tries?

Sadly 100000 tries! Haha

What BSD frame do you run and why did you choose it?

(The donny) Soulja frame! Paley sorted me out with an old frame of his a while back. I had never rode a frame with a geometry like before and it felt amazing! Watching the moves Paley sent on it I knew I could trust it!

How do you like to run your setup?

High bars, high seat & 4 pegs. Simple.

Final words...

Peace and thanks for all the support from all my sponsors!
